Dick Flute has, since getting his PPL license, realised that the opportunities for flying are virtually limitless, and, has taken advantage of this both on holiday and when on breaks whilst working abroad. Earning part of his living as an aerial photographer and writer of articles also helped to inspire him. As a result he has flown an aircraft in every country in western Europe, registered in each country, and several other countries besides.

Dick has flown aeroplanes in some of the old ‘Eastern Bloc’ countries, plus the USA, Australia and New Zealand. He has flown more than sixty examples of the true classic aeroplane of all time, the Cessna 172 – the aeroplane he truly loves – none of them ever let him down. Along the way he also managed to fly a wide range of types or major variants, some sixty plus in all, ranging from a hot air balloon, microlights and gliders.
